This is a card that I made to send to my hubby who is overseas. I tried to make it a little more masculine but not so sure that worked. I used the Friends 24/7 set and the Well Scripted set from the occasions mini catalog. I also used crystal effects and dazzling diamonds on the kraft part of the card and a hat pin out of the Pretties Kit. I hope this inspires you!

Mojo Monday

This is the card I did for this week's mojo monday sketch challenge. I used the French Script stamp set, the Teeny Tiny Wishes, lattice die and the scallp circle punch. The flower is the circle scallop punch. I punched out 5 of them and punched a whole in the center to put a brad through. Once they are attached, just crinkle them up til you are satisfied and put a button in the middle.

Vintage Valentine

This is a card I did using the Vintage Vogue set out of the new Occasions Mini. I think it could be used as a valentine. The card base is Whisper White with a Basic Black Layer. Then I used black embossing powder on Sahara Sand and on Whisper White for the flower. I embossed the saying in white on the Basic Black Layer.

Post It Note Holders

These are 2 post-it note holders I made with the directions from www.chicnscratch.com. The are super easy and make great little gifts. The green one uses the Medallion stamp set and certainly celery paper. The pink one uses a flower and pearl from the Pretties kit and a saying from the Short & Sweet stamp set.

Quilted bags

Today I have some quilted bags that I made for gift bags. The original idea came from a Stampin' Up publication a few months ago. It is made with top note dies. There were no instructions so it was mostly trial and error and I think all of them were made a little different...hehe. I am going to try and get a tutorial together to post later. I just need to get the dimensions perfect.

Cookie Boxes

These are cookie boxes I made for my husband's work. 22 in all!!! I put 2 cookies and some candy canes in each one. They loved them. The snowflakes are from the Big Shot Snowflake die and the holly leaves I drew and then traced onto DSP.

Stenciled Frame

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Today I have a stenciled frame I did for a craft show. This was also inspired by a tutorial given by Kimberly Van Diepen @ www.stampinbythesea.com. She uses stencil paste but I had a hard time finding it so I found that joint compound from your local home store does the same trick. I simply bought a $2 frame and stained it. Then I took the stencil and laid it on the frame and took a knife and covered it with joint compound. I let it dry for a while then sponged it and added a little glitter.

Christmas Mini Album

Today I have another "passbook" mini album that I made for christmas. How cute would this be as a gift with little coupons in it? I think it took 30 minutes to make. Hope it gives you some inspiration!!

Passbook Mini Album

Today I have a passbook album inspired by Amy Sheffer. It could be used for so many things....a small photo album, a kind of coupon book or I have one as a reward system for my son. Everytime he does his chores without being told or helps his baby sister, I write it on the blank piece attached and once the book is full he gets a suprise and we start over. I took chipboard and ran it through the Top Note die along with a couple of sheets of DSP. Then cut it as you like and attach to the chipboard. What a quick and easy gift for someone!

Stencil Card

This is a bday card that I made for a friend. I used close to cocoa cardstock and then sponged it with close to cocoa ink. That gives it a suede look. Then I stenciled with vanilla acryllic paint and added some dazzling diamonds glitter. The stamp set is the Happy Everything. I like it because simple but elegant. I hope you like it too!

Family Mini Album

This is a mini album that I made for a christmas present. It was completely inspired by one of my favorite Stampin' Up Demonstrators Kimberly Van Diepen. She is awesome and you can see all of her ideas here: http://stampinbythesea.com. I used the Bella Bleu DSP along with the coordinating cardstock. I also used a stencil on the front and one of the pages. On the cover I used what amounts to stencil paste....joint compound found at your local home store. Then I sponged it with chocolate chip ink and added some dazzling diamond glitter. Have a great Saturday!

Christmas Tags

Happy Friday! It's starting to feel more and more like christmas and this year I am so not ready for it! But I made some tag sets for those who were. The trees are from the Snow Swirled stamp set and all of the rest are out of the Christmas Punch set. I used embossing folders for the ornament and the santa tags to give them a little extra something. I love the embossing folders. I hope you like the tags! Have a great weekend!

Leather Clutch Purses

Hello Everyone! Today I am showing you leather clutch purses that I made as gift card holders for christmas. I saw these on another blog a long time ago but I cannot remember where. So if you know please drop me a line so that I can give credit. I think these are adorable. Made with the Top Note die and some clear embossing powder. Use your bone folder to draw the pattern and you have leather! I couldnt believe how easy these were to make. Have a great night!

Get Well Soon

Get well soon! I love this clock but never really had an excuse to use it. I thought that a get well soon card would be ideal. I used 2 stamp sets: Medallion & Sense of Time. I silver embossed the smaller clock & all of the hands to make them look more like metal. I hope you like!!

Wanted Birthday

This is a card that I made for my sister's birthday. She is loves western motif and is a sort of cowgirl at heart. I used the criss cross card tutorial on SCS. I wasnt too sure what I was going to do with this set but I absolutely love the way it turned out and I think that she will too.

Sorry...we have another medallion! Which is just crazy because I fell in love with this stamp as soon as I saw it and then got it and looked at it for a week and didnt know what to do with it. Pretty much what I do with all of my stamp sets...hehe. So I sat down to do the card set I posted a few days ago and now I just cant stop using it. I love it!!!!

Box In A Bag Tutorial

Woohoo! My first tutorial. I hope that it is easy to follow. Any comments, helpful hints, etc. would be very much appreciated. I want to make them as easy to follow as possible. Enjoy!

supplies:

4 1/2 x 4 1/2 cardstock

2 x 11 cardstock

5 1/2 x 11 DSP

sticky strip

scallop punch

tab punch

ribbon & accessories (optional)

1. - score 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 cardstock @ 1" on all 4 sides & burnish with bonefolder. Cut along scoreline on 2 sides to create tabs as shown.

2. - place sticky strip on back of tabs and fold up to create the box for the bottom of the bag.

3. - turn your 5 1/2 x 11 DSP over to the back and place sticky strip along bottom and up 1 side as shown.

4. - peel sticky strip from back of DSP. take the box made in steps 1 & 2 and roll along the bottom until completely wrapped around. peel sticky strip from the side of the DSP & overlap where you started it on the box to create your bag.

5. - use your scallop edge on the 2 x 11 piece of cardstock to create the decorative bottom. place your sticky strip exactly as you did in step 3. peel and wrap around the bottom of your bag the same way as your DSP in step 4.

6. - punch 2 tabs with your tab punch and then punch holes in both tabs. attach to the top of your bag and tie ribbon. Accessorize as desired!

Not So Blue Box Set

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. As you can see... I was busy stampin' away! I decided to make a whole card set using the Medallion stamp set and the Short and Sweet sentiment set. I also wanted to keep it to one color scheme. So I stuck with browns and blues (all of them....hehe). There is a card for every occasion in this set. I had no idea that the medallion would turn out to be sooooo versatile. New Circle Circus

Happy Friday! This is the card that I made for my very first card swap. It was with my SU! group...glitterchicks. All cards were made from the sneek peak sets for the new catalog. I chose the circle circus set. I decided to make another tree because the seeing spots set was so popular when I posted that one and it is now retired. I think I found a set that will fill it's shoes nicely...hehe. I also made the swing with the sentiment out of the new modern label punch. I love the way it turned out. I hope you all like it!!

Hostess gift

This is one of my favorite hostess bags to make! It is so much fun and so easy. I used the raspberry tart dsp (now retired!..sniff, sniff) and cameo coral. The flower is made with the daisy die for the big shot. I used a template I found on Toni Sacrison's blog @ http://5inkyfingers.blogspot.com . It is so easy to follow and I cant wait to have this as a project for one of my clubs.

Thinking of You

Many of you who know me know that I am a military wife. A lot of my projects are things I have made for my husband and well....this is no exception. I love my top note die and have a hard time throwing out the scraps that it leaves so with many of them sitting around I wanted to try to use at least one of them. So I decided to make a card. I used the Branch Out stamp set (now dormat) and the greeting from the Bird on a Branch stamp set. I made the ribbon (yellow ribbon for troop support) out of a little scrap of paper laying around. It was so easy and quick but I was really suprised and very pleased with how it turned out!

Topsy Turvy

Ok....so just like everyone else who has tried the top note die, I have fallen in love with it. It is so versatile! For this weeks Wacky Wednesday I made 2 top note cards. The great part is...you can even use the scrap created by the big shot as a frame like I did for the inside of the red card.

First Open House Projects

These are the 3 cards I did for my make and takes at my first open house a couple of weeks ago. I tried to pick a little of everything so that they could play with some tools and have fun with ribbons and punches. It went really well and everyone was very creative. We had a great time!

BAG-O-HAPPY

I made these to demonstrate the possiblities with one stamp set and one pack of DSP. Using the Happy Everything set and the Bella Rose PaperPack, I made 5 cards (1 for most any occasion) and a cute little purse/bag to put them in. It was a very easy project and took less than an hour to complete. I think it would be easy even for beginners. I just wanted to show that it doesnt take much to create something beautiful and from the heart.

Happy Humpday! This was for my wacky wednesday challenge with the glitterchicks. It is the raspberry tart dp which I was not fond of when I first saw it but I absolutely adore now. I used the Great Friends stamp set from the Occasionals Mini. It was a very easy card to make using circle punches. The hardest part is getting your circles lined up just right so that it doesnt look too crazy. I wound up with a lot of extras. Hope you all enjoy!

Happy Thursday! Yeah, a second post! I think I could find a use for the Branch Out set with anything. For this I used the tree and the stamp set Seeing Spots. The saying is from the occasionals mini. It was a quick and easy card to create, except for the stitching but I am just getting used to that. I am sure that it will become easier with time. I just wanted to create a card in honor of earth day.

FINALLY!!!!! I have only had this blog for a month now and have yet to post anything. What can I say? I am a perfectionist, but with a lot of help and guidance from my Stampin' Up! mentor, Lisa Freeman, I have worked out most of the bugs in my creativity. I absolutely love the negative image cards and black and white with bursts of color. So I decided to combine the two. I am definately a dimension and texture addict so I absolutely love this butterfly from the new Occasions Mini. It is very easy to cut out and looks beautiful in any color. The bird was a little bit harder but so worth it. It is such a whimsical image.
